After reading many articles in the news regarding dinnerware & mugs leeching lead into our food and beverages, and realizing every single one of my mugs was made in China I decided to switch to all glass mugs. These are simple, understated, and just perfect. Sure there is a seam that you can see if you're really looking for it, but knowing that my drinks are lead free makes up for that. They hold the perfect large cup of coffee and fit perfectly in my hand and are very comfortable to hold. My only gripe is that because of the shape of the base when they are placed upside down in the dishwasher they collect a small pool of water that I have to carefully fling off of them before putting away, this water remains even after using the heated drying cycle in my dishwasher.
