It is slightly smaller on the platter size. It is tall enough for an angel food cake which is hard to find. The platter is very plain, clear glass with a large flared lip around the dome. Now if only Amazon can figure out how to ship these cake domes without breaking them as others have pointed out. So far I have received two broken ones. The orig box is flimsy and the dome fits over the upside down platter with not very much packing and it does shift. Then Amazon puts that flimsy box in another flimsy larger box with very little packing. Too much shifting...lots of breakage. Currently as of 1/25/07 the pic you see of this dome is not correct. If you search for the square dome you will see a pic of this tall Presence dome. The titles and item numbers are correct but the pic and description are reversed. Confusing huh. I know because I got the wrong product as well as broken but hopefully it will be fixed and the next shipment will be correct and unbroken. Customer service was great for resoultion. 4 stars assuming I get one that is not broken.
