Prior to getting the Oxo basting brush, I used a bristle one. I was a bit skeptical as to how a silicone brush could hold basting liquids. When I used it the first time, I was surprised that it actually holds more liquid than the old bristle brush. I was so impressed with this brush, I ordered other sizes to have them handy.
