I bought this knife looking for a ceramic blade to use as a chef's knife. This isn't quite it. This is a good knife - it's inexpensive, it holds an edge well, it looks good, and since it's ceramic and plastic, it's basically zero-maintenance. Its weight and balance is good, but the handle, while comfortable, doesn't provide a lot of control over the blade for fine work. As a general kitchen knife, this is good. But it's not quite big enough to be a great chef's knife (the blade lacks the height to guide effectively as you chop, and it might be a little too short as well), and it's a little too big for fine work. So in short, a good solid knife, and a decent all-purpose introductory ceramic knife.
