Each pan is crafted from heavy-gauge aluminized steel, a 3-ply material consisting of two layers of tough corrosion-resistant 18-guage 3003 aluminum alloy around the durability, strength and superior heat conduction of carbon steel. The frame is supported by a thick, coated reinforcing wire to give the pan additional strength and insure greater durability. Bottom of pan is concave and will flatten during heating for even distribution. Natural finish. Product Reviews It IS the correct size for a half sheet pan. A half sheet pan wire rack will fit into it perfectly. (one reviewer complained about the dimensions). I just don't like cooking on or trying to clean aluminum for any cookware, but this pan has excellent construction. I think a far superior pan, although very expensive is the Gourmet Standard, which is stainless on the outside with an aluminum core (tri-ply). The Amazon listing calls it a 16" jelly roll pan, but that's wrong, it's a half sheet pan...(check out Gourmet Standard's website).
