Had trouble putting batteries in 1 of the peelers because there was a tiny plastic piece in the way which we just cut out. Then batteries went in fine. (Looked like the plastic did not cut off straight at the manufacturer's.) Both peelers work great and are very sharp and easy to use. I tried a different peeler first that had a shield guard, but found I still had peelings flying all over the place if I was not careful. This peeler doesn't shred the peelings like the other one. It cuts them in strips just as if I was using a non-battery operated peeler. Much cleaner way of peeling! I was hoping to find a peeler that didn't need the "on" button pushed while peeling. I used to have a peeler that I could just turn on while using but can't find them any more. At least this peeler has the "on" button in an easy to hold place.
