Well, I loved this item until I just threw it away--the glass really leaked unless it was firmly pushed into the metal part. Eventually, well, it just got--stuck. In separating the two pieces, the whole top of the glass mixer broke off! Into the trash...I didn't think I was that strong! Somehow, a seal must have formed, and it was just NOT going to let that Martini go... I'm going for one with a rubber gasket...I think that bar tenders can afford to have good gin spill out the edges of these things--regular folks want a drip-proof seal. This is a nice item--the strainer is fine. But the glass is...well, toast. And its edge is hanging on still inside the steel lid...8-(
