A great gift, this big cocktail shaker comes with 15 drink recipes built into the side, so when a guest requests a specific tipple there's no guesswork involved in properly filling the order. Here's how it works: The 34-ounce shaker consists of two containers, a strainer, and a double jigger--all made of heavy-gauge, dishwasher-safe stainless steel. One container fits inside the other. The inside container is slightly taller than the outside container and displays the 15 drinks around its top edge and ingredients for each drink staggered down the sides. The outside container has an arrow and openings staggered down its sides. Turn the outside container so the arrow points to a particular drink and you'll align the openings with the selected drink's ingredients on the inside container. Follow the recipe, shake, strain, and pour. Recipe selections include the sidecar, Tom Collins, whiskey sour, alexander, kamikaze, dry martini, margarita, Manhattan, gin rickey, and old-fashioned. In addition to the recipes shown on the shaker, a bar guide containing many more comes with the shaker. --Fred Brack

This item USED to be sold at Pottery Barn stores but they discontinued it after it became the #1 returned item. I had one and returned it myself. After using it, it's really difficult to get the top back off. Seriously, I only got it off once myself, by banging it on a table. And I'm a pretty strong guy. The second time I used it and couldn't get the top off, I just went and returned it to PB. Stay away! Unless, of course the company redesigned it. However Norpro should be boycotted for producing a product with this flaw anyway!
