Product Reviews This is a great product for you if you like to drink tea or any other hot beverage, and especially if you like to brew your own. Pros + One-handed opening mechanism on the removable top requires just the push of a button, great for driving. + The top is very innovative and allows you to drink from any direction once you have it open, so you don't have to look to make sure you're putting your lips in the right place. + Completely leak-proof when the button is up as far as I can tell, and especially with the extra cover that goes over the mechanical top. With the convenient canvas carrying case you're pretty much completely covered. + Vacuum design keeps beverages plenty hot for over an hour and warm for much longer--I left mine sitting out overnight and my drink was still more than lukewarm in the morning. I think it's ideal for a lengthy morning commute. + Removable tea strainer with fine mesh allows you to brew looseleaf tea--you can either put it under the strainer and leave it there, or you can put it on top inside the strainer and take it out after a few minutes. (I think the latter approach works better.) + Top disassembles for relatively easy cleaning. Cons (very minor) - The removable tea strainer can be tricky to insert and remove, and occasionally I've had problems with my tea finding it's way to the other side of the strainer when I put it in the top. I think this is more likely to happen if the water level goes over the top of the strainer, because then bits of tea leaves float up to the top, and if you tilt the mug they can be transferred to the side of the interior and then down and around the underside of the strainer... I think it just takes a bit of practice. - The top doesn't disassemble completely. There are still some moving parts left that don't come apart after you follow their instructions for separating it into pieces, and it's tricky to clean inside of those. It can be done to some extent, though. - The fact that the outside is all metal makes me concerned that it will get dented if I drop, but then I'm not sure if this would happen, because so far I haven't dropped it. I think I'd like it better if there were a layer of rubber over the outside. - For some reason I can never drink the last bit of my beverage with the top on, and I always end up taking it off to finish my drink. I think the reason for this is that the liquid comes up through the center of the top, and when it's almost empty there's just a thin layer of liquid hugging the inside wall when I tilt it, so it doesn't find it's way to the opening. Again, I think these gripes are really minor, and all-in-all Highwave has made an excellent product here. I heartily recommend this mug for anyone who likes to drink tea on the go.
