Product Description
For you next gathering, let everyone participate in the cooking using this raclette grill. Placed in the middle of the table, everyone can prepare his or her own favorite from grilled meats, seafood, veggies and bread on the grill top to the gooey cheese that heats in the dishes below. Once the cheese has melted, simply scrape-off onto your food using one of the spatulas. The grill on top is nonstick so foods won't stick. The set includes: Reversible grill Top, 8 Raclette Dishes, and 8 Heat-resistant Spatulas.

This is a hot item overseas for parties; you get some slices of Raclette cheese, some boiled potatoes, gherkins or cornichons, sausages, dried Bundfleisch (chipped beef) and in the case of the German style raclette, cold meats like ham and salami. The guests each have their own pan, put in potato, cold meat and top with cheese. While the cheese melts, you can grill a wurst or two on top. Another trick is to cut up zucchini or mushrooms and saute them on top of the grill and then put them under the cheese to melt. This model is more suited to a square table and has eight pans (some models are round with pie shaped pans. I prefer the square.) Once upon a time, we walked into a REAL Raclettestube in Zermatt and the incredible smell of the mountain cheese (rather like Gruyere) knocked over one of our party as we stood in the doorway. He ran off, gagging. Yep, raclette can be pretty strong. However American slices or Munster will make for a less-odoriferous if less authentic raclette. If you are tired of fondue with bread and cheese, this is a nice party dish instead.
